The Grange now the Charles Sturt Museum was the home of Captain Charles Sturt and his family from when it was built in 1840 until they returned to England in 1853. Captain Sturt was one of Australia’s most famous explorers his River Murray expedition paved the way for settlement in South Australia.
Much of the furniture on display in the house was used by the Sturt family and sent out from England after the house was restored in the 1960s. The former nursery wing is now an exhibition gallery.
School visits and group bookings are most welcome by prior arrangement.
Grounds are available for hire for garden weddings, photography and social events.
