Featuring two World Heritage listed areas of Fraser Island – the largest sand island in the world, with spectacular coloured sands, freshwater lakes and towering rainforests – and the Great Barrier Reef, this vibrant area is a nature lover’s ideal. The Fraser Coast is home to the capital of whale watching, Hervey Bay, where from July to November you can get close to humpbacks frolicking in the calm blue waters. There are 40km of long sandy swimming beaches, abundant marine life and pristine national parks and Hervey Bay is also a popular gateway to the Reef.
