The Sydney Jewish Museum provides visitors with experiences and understanding of the events of the Holocaust by allowing them to meet, in a dignified and moving environment, those who were involved. The Museum combines the voices of those who have lived through the Shoah with concise text, audiovisual displays, primary source materials, and authentic images, offering a unique educational excursion.

The museum also deals with Jewish life from the first days of European settlement in Australia.

The Sydney Jewish Museum is dedicated to documenting and teaching the history of the Holocaust so that these events will never be repeated.

Housed in the historic Maccabean Hall, the museum presents visitors with an elaborate critique of the best and worst of humanity.

Explore powerful messages about democracy, morality, social justice and human rights in one of the world's greatest holocaust museums.

The museum presents two permanent exhibitions, 'Culture & Continuity' and 'The Holocaust'.

Displays combine original objects and documents with sound scapes, interactive media, audiovisual and sculptures.

Holocaust survivors volunteer as guides within the museum and provide an added dimension to the exhibitions.

Facilities include: A comprehensive resource centre, 100 seat theatrette, museum shop, war memorial forecourt and traditional kosher cafe.
