The Macleay Museum (Gosper Lane off Science Road, University of Sydney) is one of Sydney's oldest museums. The Macleay is a museum of natural history (insects, birds, reptiles, mammals, shells and even the dodo) and the history of science.

It also houses significant Australian and Pacific Island artefacts and historic scientific instruments.

The gallery is furnished with nineteenth century display cases and has a particularly charming atmosphere.

Special exhibitions are held every year in addition to longer term displays from the collections.
2011 temporary exhibitions include:
Outlines - Koori Artefacts from the Macleay Museum (until July 2011)
Picturing New South Wales: Photographs by Kerry and Co. (until 13 March 2011)
The Quest for Red (27 March until 1 December 2011)
