One of Sydney’s newest parklands, incorporating former defence lands across Middle Head, Georges Heights and Chowder Bay. There are magnificent harbour views, a lookout, walking track from Chowder Bay to Balmoral, fortifications, tunnels and heritage buildings.
Visit this wonderful park and explore pockets of remnant bushland. Observe native birds and other fauna as you enjoy the beauty and shade of Sydney Red Gums. Along the walking track, you’ll encounter world class sculptures and secluded seats with glimpses and views of the harbour.
Georges Head lookout is surely the most stunning vantage point anywhere on the harbour and the artists’ precinct at Lower Georges Heights is an ideal spot for a picnic.
Headland Park has cafes and restaurants in refurbished heritage buildings along with picnic areas, artists’ precinct, sculpture trail, dive school, outdoor education centre and walking tracks. It's a beautiful place to spend the day or an afternoon.
